Remap Kings operates all over the UK remapping cars. They wanted a Portal to allow Fitters and Admin users to view orders via various filtering options.

Remap Kings operates all over the UK and pride themselves on their service and efficiency. They can make your car run more efficiently, more responsively or a combination of both.
We interviewed to some of the garages/fitters involved to understand their needs when a service was booked, what to present on a dashboard page, their ideal order summary, etc.
Both admins and users agreed to have four initial sections: Dashboard, View Orders, Create Order, and a Diary page to enhance order visibility from a calendar.
I asked: “why they needed a create order page if orders are placed online? Can customers also book over the phone?”.
Answer: “some users aren’t tech-savvy and just call up the garage and book it over the phone.”
After gathering business requirements and collecting all data from some user interviews, I started sketching out the initial ideas..
The user should be able to enter a date range for the Dashboard.
By default the date range From and To values should be TODAY. There should be simple fast route options for the user to change the date to be Today, Yesterday, This Month, Last Month, Custom range.
I removed the 'Show All Data' button (as displayed on the wireframe above) and decided to add it under the 'Date Filter' dropdown.
Admins and Fitters can access the orders page. Customer details and installation date can be modified - these changes will then be reflected on the database.
After carrying quick interviews and user testing with both admins and fitters, they both agreed they needed a quick "fitters" button-filter option to toggle between them. Below you can see I created a "Fitters Orders" section (light orange tabs/buttons) under the main filters at the top.
Fitters and admins can update customer orders as requested. We spoke to some garages and the main administrator. All agreed on having a "Notes" facility to improve communication. This way any important information can be recorded.
A customer can get in touch with Remap Kings and ask to change the installation date. To do this, the admin can enter the diary page and change the requested slot using the drag-and-drop facility.
Feedback was great and admins and garages/fitters continue to work together to improve the user experience.
Remap Kings have now access to the widest remapping library in the UK. Traditionally, having your vehicle remapped involves booking at a garage or finding a local ‘man with a van’ and typically they only work with one tuning company, meaning that the range of maps can be limited both by their equipment and the depth of file library.
